Life with a Dachshund, two or three...

Whether you are a first-time Dachshund owner, haven’t owned one in a long time, have one but never bothered to research the breed, or are thinking of getting one, you’ll definitely want to know few important things about Dachshunds.

Maxx (black doxie), was my first one. I've always wanted one but could never justify paying hundreds or thousands on a dog. I looked daily at local rescue websites as well as Craigs list. I finally stumbled over a Craigs list post about a husband and wife getting divorced and getting rid of the poor pup. I instancy knew that second I had to have him, his photo they had posted he looked so sad. I emailed the address on the post and said when can meet and pick him up. They reply back just as fast as I sent the email and that night John and I grew to a party of 3.

But boy was I in for a rude awaking.

Unfortunately, that means they may use their superpowers to figure out, or get into, things you don’t want them to.

People Often Say, “Dachshunds Train You”… and It’s for a Reason

Dachshunds are strong-willed and want their way how and when they want it. You are living in their world.

Look Before You Sit

Dachshunds love to burrow under blankets.

If there is a blanket on the couch, they are likely sleeping under there so be sure to feel the blanket or look under it before you sit down.

Dachshunds Will Steal Your Heart

Their craziness and silly looks will melt your heart.

Dachshund owners will tell you they’re like potato chips, it’s hard to have just one.
